The day after surgery

Reflecting on the last 10 years – 16 to 26 – I got my first job & saved up to go on my first international trip (Paris – with the French Club), caught the travel bug & booked my first solo trip to NYC where my cousin showed me the sights & took me to a Broadway Show (Mamma Mia), traveled to Cali & NC with my best friend, Jacqui, was captain of my lacrosse team & won regionals 3 birthdays in a row, went on a Cali Coast road trip + WA & LV with my Godmother, Karla, played 4 years of college lacrosse at Alma where I was also captain, rushed AXiD & held 3 different positions, including a year in the sorority house, was President of our Athletic Training club and Student Athlete Advisory Club, won our True Scot award, traveled to India where I volunteered in a special education school for 4 weeks, spent the holidays in London with my soul sister, Kilee, back to NYC for our 21st’s, and most importantly made the most amazing friends & met the most amazing guy, studied hard enough to get into my dream graduate program – UNC – where I worked my dream job – DI Football – and somehow met more amazing supportive people, got engaged to the guy at sunrise, skid off to Vail, CO for a year where I learned & adventured more than enough for a lifetime, met even more supportive Angels, got to come home for the wedding of my absolute dreams to marry the guy & had the privilege of spending every weekend with family 🤍 plus two weeks in Greece?! Was in my best friends weddings 🙂 And now to land in AZ where I’ve never had to be cold (?!) & I’m 25 minutes from the Mayo Cancer Clinic? And I’m missing 1000 things in between but all this to say if I can smash all of that into 10 years imagine what I’m going to do with the next 70?? Fun to think about with Nicholas & my puppy, Archie, by my side now ☺️

Thank you all for the well wishes – I’m anxious & they bring a big smile to my face. The recovery is going to kick my butt, I know, but in the end this cancer is going to be sorry it met me & I’ll be back to myself in no time.
