we always have a choice

Written February 12, 2022

Just dropped Sharon off at the airport & had my bandage changed in Nick’s hospital parking lot during a break in his 24 hour shift tonight 🤪

Realized this will be my first night “alone” (I do have Archie…🐶) but I had hourly care for a week from my nurses, then my Mother and my Husband for 2 more weeks, my Dad, and now my Step-Mom! I made it over a month with constant in-person love and support – how lucky am I?

Excited for a couple days of normalcy…returning to work Monday…then egg retrieval procedure Wednesday…then chemo + radiation starts the following Monday & by that Thursday my sister will be here 🤗

The first 3 weeks of my treatments are supposed to be pretty “easy” then the effects will likely catch up to me for the final 3 weeks plus 2-3 weeks afterwards. Mentally preparing for anything!

A new favorite out of Wisdom From World Religions: Pathways Towards Heaven on Earth by John Marks Templeton:

“…we always have a choice.

We can become bitter

or

we can choose

to become bigger

and better people.

When we learn to recognize

every experience

can bring a blessing

of some kind,

our upset is softened.”
