Day 12 (let’s call it Tom Brady day)

Pain is…getting crazy

And here’s the thing…the pain is because my body is fighting cancer

We purposefully created this toxic environment so I can beat this…and it’s going to be okay when we’re done.

So, my Squamous Cell Carcinoma: You’re on Notice

(4 weeks to move out)

& Matt Haig coming through for me:

On Growth:

“We grow through hard times. Growth is change. And when everything is easy, we have no reason to change. The most painful moments in life expand us. And when the pain leaves, space remains. Space we can fill with life itself.”

Current Thoughts March 15, 2024

I’m so glad I’m revising this quote. I had forgotten how much time, energy, and heartache pain took up. “…space remains. Space we can fill with life itself” rings so true these days. There is so much I feel and experience in the absence of pain – how lucky am I?

Current Thoughts on this excerpt from The Comfort Book by Matt Haig March 15, 2022 – I don’t think it’s fair to say any of us are “broken”. I think that creates an unnecessary dichotomy between “broken” people and “whole” people. Are any of us really truly either of those things? We all have a spectrum of experiences that create a spectrum of a human, and I think that’s pretty neat. The rest of this page, however, gives me a small hope it may be okay to just be okay sometimes.
