Proud of past me for putting myself in a position to be present me. Everything changes, yโall! Maybe not your exact circumstances (my native tongue isnโt coming back) yet thoughts, feelings, and attitude can. Itโs amazing![]()

Estar vivito y coleando ![]()
Met a couple from Chicago today who will be at the Taylor Swift concert Iโm going to in June; she also recently left her profession to work remotely at a start up just like me, and was friends with her SOโs sister in college before meeting her brother (love ya, Stephanie). Talked to three nurse anesthetists from the Mayo Clinic in Arizona who are very fond of my surgeon (shoutout Dr. Chang
), and grabbed a business card from a couple in Kansas City, KS who have a rental property near St. Louis they want Nick and I to stay in
All that and I didnโt even mention brunch, sailing the Mediterranean, and the best food tour Iโve ever been on around old town Barcelona ![]()
. Itโs a wonderful life, Yโall ![]()

“The great book, always open and which we should make an effort to read, is that of Nature.” – Antonio Gaudรญ
Truly one of the most beautiful experiences Iโve ever had exploring Gaudรญโs pieces in Park Gรผell today. I wish more of the architecture in this world was his. Itโs breathtaking, serene, and makes me feel so close to nature
I found in my sickest moments, times Iโd be laying on the floor and felt unable to move, a little fresh air or a slow walk outside would pull me out of it. Nature is magical
or as Gaudรญ put it, “[t]he straight line belongs to Man. The curved line belongs to God.โ

โIdeally, travel broadens our perspectives personally, culturally, and politically. Suddenly the palette with which we paint the story of our lives has more colors.โ –
Rick Steves, Travel as a Political Act
Incredibly grateful to our hosts, Angie and John, for thoughtful conversations, heavenly cuisine, top-notch tours, and a beautiful friendship. Barcelona has expanded my palette to include red wine (!!!) and olives – never thought Iโd say that ![]()
And cheers to Amsterdam for bringing me closer to my international colleagues
