We did it 💙

“Resilient little thing, just like mama raised you

So you got that wildfire in your soul

Don’t you ever let it go

Make it burn so bright that they all know”

{SUPERBLOOM}

30/30

Lots of videos – one in particular thanking my Village – you all have made this journey feel much less lonely, and beyond that, so full of love – for which I will be forever grateful 💙

My Doctor reminds me although my symptoms only took weeks to come on they will take months to fade away – I’ve certainly felt that the past 48 hours – I am hoping and praying for brighter days, but today we celebrate this milestone with my beautiful new pin that says “hope”

As I’ve learned, “nothing is stronger than a small hope that doesn’t give up” 💙

SUPERBLOOM by MisterWives
From my Dad: The tradition started in 1996 at MD Anderson. A rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, Irve Le Moyne, was undergoing radiation therapy for head and neck cancer, and he told his doctor that he planned to follow a Navy tradition of ringing a bell to signify “when the job was done.” He brought a brass bell to his last treatment, rang it several times, and left it as a donation.
I ring this bell for myself and every other
cancer patients that has, or is, or will walk the
journey that a cancer diagnosis brings.
I ring this bell for my caregivers, family, friends,
and perfect strangers who have given time, talents,
prayer and encouragement on my behalf.
I ring this bell for each employee that works within
these walls … thank you for the compassionate
care you choose to give each day.
My praise and thanksgiving is for each of you
and to God, the giver of your life and mine.
I ring this bell, I ring this bell, I ring this bell for you!

More happy photos from yesterday after a tough tough morning 💙

I couldn’t eat the cake, certainly not the tacos, or anything for that matter, but the company was second to none and filled me to the brim with love – an amazing feeling – to know how deeply important family – good company – really is. When life takes away health, and much of your nutrients, and a good nights sleep, it’s still handed me more than enough love for one heart to even hold, and for that I am grateful beyond belief 💙

One response to “Day 30/30”

  1. I didn’t know the origin of the bell ringing so glad I do now! My mom rang it! Also gives me comfort in a way knowing the effects will still last longer. I think my mom and I both get impatient wanting things better NOW. MRI Wednesday… we need positive thoughts and prayers
